Its raining awards for Mont Tauch wines
August 2009
International Wine Challenge, International Wine & Spirits Competition, Top 100 Vins de Pays, Concours Général Agricole Paris, Concours des Grands Vins de France Macon, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Concours des Grands Vins du Languedoc, Mondial du Rosé, Muscats du Monde, Challenge International... And the wine guides: Hachette, Hubert, Gilbert & Gaillard, Bettanne et Desseauve... We are used to drought in Tuchan, but a real rain of awards has watered the vineyards of Mont Tauch this year.
In 2009 Mont Tauch has won new acclaim by winning no less than 90 medals, of which 23 Gold, in the most prestigious national and international competitions.
Mont Tauch conveys the hard work of a whole team and its experience in the making and development of great Languedoc wines. Nearly half of all award winning products are AOC Fitou wines, which helps reinforce the reputation of Fitou as well as the key role of Mont Tauch for this appellation.
The 2008 vintage shows the growing importance of rosé (AOC and varietals) with 6 Gold medals. Traditional, native varietals (Carignan, Marselan, Grenache) also confirm their recent success with 13 medals so far.
Xavier Jayet, Managing Director at Mont Tauch, says: " Even in the current climate on the world market, Mont Tauch remains on course. Our many awards encourage existing customers in their choices and enable us to continue developing markets around the world."
