The Mont Tauch Cooperative is renowned for producing a wide range of wines at all price points, amongst which are some of the best AOC wines in Languedoc-Roussillon.
The majority of Mont Tauch’s production is Fitou. An Appellation wine since 1948 it is the oldest AOC in red wine in Languedoc. This is produced in the villages of Tuchan, Paziols and Villeneuve.
Mont Tauch is also entitled to AOC Corbières, produced in the vineyards of all four Mont Tauch villages. AOC since 1985, the village of Durban was already one of the most respected Corbières producers since 1951.
A smaller quantity of sweet, fortified red and white wines known collectively as Vin Doux Naturel, is made under the Rivesaltes and Muscat de Rivesaltes Appellations. Obtained in 1936, these wines are part of a long established tradition at Mont Tauch.
Some great Vin de Pays add to the impressive variety of wines that come from Mont Tauch. The Vin de Pays du Torgan and Vin de Pays de Vallée du Paradis are specific to the vineyards which grow around Mont Tauch. Vin de Pays d’Oc and Vin de Pays de l’Aude equally provide some interesting varietals.
